Affordable adventures, epic sights, and ease of access make South East Asia the gateway trail for new and old backpackers alike.
Curious to explore the other side of the Pacific, I ventured to the East to discover a different way of life than what I had ever experienced in the West (typical, I know).
What I found were ancient cities, intense flavors, natural outdoor living, authentic people, sacred spaces, and lots of furry creatures.
My solo trip to South East Asia was proof that the unknown is safe, wonderful, and waiting to be embraced. While it was unfortunately cut short by the pandemic, I plan to cover more countries here in the near future.
Start Exploring:
Thailand
Golden temples and roaming elephants were enough to allure me to red hot Thailand… but the close-knit backpacker culture and locals’ peaceful energy were the reasons I maxed out all the days on my tourist visa.
Indonesia
6,000 inhabited gorgeous, unworldly islands - and not one the same.
Bali is merely the launchpad to the biggest archipelago in the world, where wild monkeys play, beaches are deemed “the most beautiful in the world,” and slow-paced ‘island time’ reigns supreme.
Vietnam
One of the most beautiful countries I have ever experienced, Vietnam is a diamond in the rough.
Warm hospitality, floating temples, underground caves, ethereal forests, sweet sauces, and lots of fanfare make Vietnam quite the festive (and most underrated) destination.
