“One cannot discover new oceans unless they have the courage to lose sight of the shore.
”
Welcome, Wolfette.
It’s no coincidence we found each other, and I’m thrilled to have you as part of the pack.
My passion and goal in life is to help other women travel fiercely and independently. I want everyone to know there is absolutely nothing in the way of living your dreams.
Since I was young I always wanted to explore the world, but other people made it sound nearly impossible for a woman to do it alone.
Yet what many don’t realize is that we can all have access to travel - even on a budget!
10 years after my first solo trip, I’m truly in awe of the world and want to share these travel opportunities that are so important for personal and spiritual growth.
While many touristy places are still must-sees… I’m the type of person that finds joy in walking down a random street in a new place and gathering in all I can from my five senses…
…taking photographs of odd-ball graffiti, petting cats and dogs, smelling the sizzling street food, resting under a shady tree to chomp down on that falafel, hearing different languages whisk by my ears, enjoying a 5 minute conversation with a local in line who tells me about the next best places to visit… you get the idea.
These are the authentic experiences I crave.
The real, rustic, raw and extraordinary.
The daily culture, feel, and essence of a destination.
The people, and the way they walk, talk, laugh, eat, drink, and dance.
The nature, including the quiet, off-the-grid places to hide away with a campfire under the stars you can actually see, or the epic waterfalls that plummet down so loudly to drown out all you can hear for miles.
The mystical, spiritual, magical, and awesome experiences that connect me to the earth and the people that came before us.
Like you, Wolfette, I prefer the wild, weird and the un-ordinary.
Surprisingly, travel is what makes me feel at home.
Solo travel is a healing experience for me. It challenges me, gives me confidence, and allows an opportunity to discover the infinite possibilities of what life is all about. You realize how many different styles of life are truly possible.
And when you solo travel, you are never really alone.  You are, in fact, surrounded by so many other earthly travelers that are ready to meet you for the same reasons you seek.
Even when you solo travel, you are never truly alone.
and a little about me - I wasn’t always so adventurous…
I’m originally a city girl from Los Angeles, who barely even went camping as a kid.
Later on, living in San Diego, I would go with friends to festivals and take weekend trips - but never solo, on my own.
The closest thing that came to a solo trip at the time was when I studied for 6 months in Madrid at age 19, where I started to work as an international club promoter.
While Spain certainly broadened my horizons and quenched my aching thirst for travel, I still didn’t really go out to many places on my own when I was there. I did visit other countries, but only with friends or group trips.

After college, I worked for most of the decade in the Hospitality & tourism industry, so travel has always been right up my alley…
Yet I would still wait until I found someone to go on trips with me - which we all know is difficult to do with opposing schedules, budgets and itineraries.
As I entered my late 20’s, slogging away at a desk job, I began to feel like I was missing out on visiting so many different parts of the world.
In 2019 I took ‘the leap’ and quit my corporate job to travel the world (and work freelance). After experiencing the benefits of solo travel, I am definitely addicted and could never look back.
People told me I was ‘brave’ to go out on my own - first, driving up and down my entire home state of California, and then to Asia for months, a continent where I had never been.
All I could think was, well, I’m a grown woman!
In 2020, we entered a global pandemic, but after a quarantine for the first few months, I thrust myself into social-distanced domestic travel: camping, road trips, and national parks.
I learned during this time that travel is a mindset, even in your hometown.
Life is truly a trip, and it never stops.
With a love of photography and writing, I allowed myself to find the weird, wild, artsy and unusual in everything from a street sign to a mountain top, even if for just a day trip.
about the blog + the wolf spirit
I started Lone Wolfette in 2022 to bring the always adventuring mindset to life, as I set off to experience an entirely new landscape: South America.
Lone Wolfette is a blog to connect the community of solo female travelers together.
The wolf spirit represents our freedom, independence, and worldly wisdom. While we are strong on our own, we are also fierce as a united pack.
This blog will share my expertise on the best itineraries that are actually interesting, how to prepare for your trips and the mistakes not to make (because I already did!).
My goal is to inspire you to have the best trips and to make it easier for other women to find liberation, confidence and healing through solo travel.
You might even get to live your dream… and manifest seeing the Great Pyramid on your 29th birthday…
Girl, I’m beyond excited to connect with you on our journeys together.
